Planning Your Move
It is hard to find someone who hasn’t moved at least once in their lifetime. In fact the average American has moved five to six times in their lifetimes. Whether you and your family are moving across town or out of country moving is a difficult experience and requires a lot of planning and is time consuming.
You can begin by making a list of items in each box while you are packing. You can keep a notebook near while packing boxes so that you can accurately list the items and also know where each box is going to be placed in the new home. An easy way to do this is to number the boxes or color code them according to which room it should be placed.
When creating your box lists write down the number of the box along with a detailed description as to what is inside. Rather than simply writing dishes you should write plates or silverware. This makes it much easier for you to find a specific item if you should need it.
When you are planning to move from one home to another then don’t forget to spend the right amount of time writing down important information and numbers regarding your local utilities and services. Make sure you go over this list carefully to ensure that your new home will have all of the important necessities such as telephone, water, and electricity before you move in.
You should use a similar list to make sure that you cancel all of the necessary services before you move out of the old home. Also remember to change the address on all of your bills and put in a change of address for the rest of the mail you receive. Nothing is worse than finding out you are months on a bill only because you didn’t receive the notices.
